Description

I can't believe I just spent several hours none stop working on this girl. X.X I guess I learn to appreciate some less loved character of mine this way, I kinda like her now? Also want to have her go through some moments of happiness before throwing more shiet her way...;w; She's been through a lot already.
Anyways!! :D (Big Grin) Shimmerstar's history is now fully complete, with her drawn app modified to have her look less cross-eyed. XD
Our Lakeclan leader is now open for RPs once again! La la la la If anyone wants to see her develop after the Lakeclan Rebellion event then feel free! ^w^ I still don't have any plans on how she will end up other than will slowly recover with the help of Dipper/Dipperpaw when he comes to Lakeclan. So bringing in some other character to help her move forward (or spiral downward before moving back up) is welcomed!

Description: American and British Shorthair mix, Shimmerstar inherited her short fur from both of her parents. Often compared to her mother due to her  light silver coat, piercing green and face shape that her mother had the she-cat has shown herself to act playful and attentive to her surroundings like Shadepelt had been during her youth, the only difference is Shimmerstar does not possess the typical coat patterns that a American Shorthair has.
Her thick build and rounded paws are a trait passed on from her father who was a highly respected tom who did not have his mate and kit's playful nature. It is uncertain who between her two parents passed on her darker underbelly color and light paws and tail tip, both sides of her family composed of those patterns in different shades each.

Breed: Moggy with some clean American Shorthair and British Shorthair genes mixed, build more like the American Shorthair

Personality:

Spirited//Comedian//Prideful//Temperamental//Judgmental (Not taking into account the self-doubt that has now come to overtake her judgement)

Just like her son Shimmerstar is a good actress, managing to fool cats by changing her scent while hunting and even managing to make them believe her sister was her and that she was dead. She rarely has had the need to take on different roles like Shadowpath frequently does though, other than the appearance of a loyal Lakeclan cat who became Lightningstar's mate and deputy.
She does however hide her true emotions to her clan when she goes through emotions that risk weakening her in front of those she leads. She tends to act differently around the various cats and will not hesitate to openly lie to hide truth that would risk harming her clan. If there is one thing Shimmerstar is good at it's never giving up, whether its an aim or a search party.
Ever since she had been taken when kit the she-cat was determined to follow her dreams and will enthusiastically help others to do the same. Always trying to look lively the leader will do anything to hide her emotions behind a alert and engaging surface, playing with kits, hunting and organizing patrols, taking apprentices who lost their mentors out for training and acting.
She however posses a very proud personality and will back away from nothing, she will gladly take on a challenge to satisfy her pride and will  occasionally mope for days if she fails. Feeding her pride could easily put on momentarily on her good side, but if she realized why you are doing it you'll likely be racing into your den with shredded ears, she does not take kindly to being used.
Ever since Lightningstar's death the Lakeclan leader has become little more withdrawn than usual, keeping up with her new role and act but still occasionally having a far away look in her eyes when she isnt concentrated, a look that can send chills down cat's spine, this is when you know to stay alert for her mood swings. When she does focus on you you'd better be careful because she suddenly turns cold and will likely act critical of your actions or comportment. Whatever you do that puts you on her bad side will be a topic frequently mentioned during any of your next encounters, so better stay away! And be prepared to hide because she won't hesitate to search you out just to pester you.

History:

Kit-hood:
Shimmerkit spent much of her first moons exploring Lakeclan's camp, her siblings and her would always find ways to get into trouble, but as the clan leader's kit they'd usually get away with it. Much was peaceful until they were four moons and the three kits decided to wander out of camp, which meant swimming out to reach the lakeside. It was quite a feat but the 5 moon old kits succeeded by helping each other. Wandering around the forest the kits came across a twoleg campsite and approached the strange beast who took hold of them and took them home with them.  Unable to return home the three siblings now kittypets waited until the day was right to return to their old home which was quickly becoming just a distant dream. Their chance came during a fire created some panic in their twoleg house, giving the cats the chance to escape from the den and run away towards clan territory. Unsure of how to return to their twolegs home the cats finally made up their mind to follow a large stream that flowed down from twolegland  and into the forest beyond.

Following the river to wherever it would end the three cats strolled into Streamclan territory where they were furiously chased out into Stoneclan lands. There they met a Stoneclan apprentice Shadowpaw who warned the three cats about the dangers of wild clans. The three siblings also learned that a violent leader had taken over Stoneclan and declared war on their old home but that not all Stoneclaners intended to kill like they were expected to. Allowed to cross freely through Stoneclan territory the siblings managed to get through with the help of Shadowpaw. Hurrying onward the cats made their way towards Lakeclan territory by passing by the Pillars, there Shimmer, Stealth and Silver came across a Lakeclan apprentice named Lightningpaw who challenged the cats and refused to lead them to his clan unless if they promised to be his loyal servants.

Tired and annoyed by all these challenges Shimmer refused to accept the apprentice’s offer, ambushing Lightningpaw instead. The two fought until a Lakeclan warrior came to stop them, recognizing the three cats. Returning home the cats were greeted by both joy and suspicion by their parents and clan, some though the three cats had been captured by Stoneclan and raised to spy on their old clan, this made it very hard for the three new apprentices who had to prove their loyalty over and over again.

Apprentice-Hood

Life was hard during the dark ages, with Lakeclan in war against Stoneclan every cat was expected to be properly trained to defend themselves and their clanmates against the enemy forces. Shimmerpaw was given Jaggedstreak as her mentor, the father to Lightningpaw, Rabbitpaw, Larkpaw and Scorchpaw.
Jaggedstreak was a harsh mentor, insisting that the leader's daughter leader to fight properly and use everything at her disposal to win, even if it meant fighting unfairly to get the upper hand. While it was challenging at first, Shimmerpaw was quickly able to meet her mentor's demands, earning praise from Jaggedstreak which he would only give to those he truly felt deserved it. This feat definitely did not go unnoticed when it came to Jaggedstreak's children, earning Shimmerpaw the attention from them she otherwise wouldn't get. Drawn to their father's apprentice Scorchpaw was quick to attempt bonding with the she-cat, seeing this as an opportunity to get close to his own father. Rabbitpaw and Larkpaw were much more shy, but it didn't take long for them and Shimmerpaw to form bonds, bonds that quickly spread to Shimmer's own siblings as Rabbitpaw and Silverpaw shared the same idealism, and Larkpaw and Stealthpaw were almost made for each other. The one cat that was left was Lightningpaw, who instead of seeing earning respect from his father as something special saw it as a challenge to his own place in his family. The tom would constantly challenge Shimmerpaw, getting into stupid fights with her over so very little. It seemed as these two rivals would never stop, as the tension between them could be seen as hatred at this stage in their life.

Things were different for Shimmerpaw's siblings however, as Silverpaw was much calmer and more thoughtful cat, leaning more toward hunting than fighting when it came to her skills. Sadly, as moons went on the rivalry between Lightningpaw and Shimmerpaw constantly grew to the point where the two cats were now openly challenging each other to pitiless dares and fights. Too occupied with her own games the apprentice had become blind to her sister's feelings and the two siblings slowly began to grow apart.  Their brother however, quickly grew tired of all the suspicion that not even Larkpaw could help him cope with. Too scared to hurt any cat in case he killed them the youngest sibling of the three, Stealthpaw, decided to become a medicine cat much to his siblings and friend's dismay. Leaving his warrior training the tom moved into the medicine cat den, frequently visited by Larkpaw who compared to Shimmerpaw did not hold any hard feelings over the matter. It seemed as if the bonds between the three siblings had during kithood would be destroyed forever...

Warrior-hood

Shimmerpaw was finally able to prove herself one night when Stoneclan attempted to directly attack Lakeclan by swimming to their island camp. Many Stonerclaners died before even reaching the shore, and those that did were quickly chased away by Lakeclan. Finally having proven themselves Shimmerpaw and her apprentice companions finally earned their warrior name. Shimmerpool, Silverdrop, Scorchstorm, Larkchaser, Rabbistripe, Lightningstrike and a silent ex-loner apprentice by the new name of Swanfeather.

Becoming a warrior seemed to open up Shimmerpool to new possibilities, pushing her to attempt creating closer ties with the other new cats, all but one: Lightningstrike. The tension between the two had only subsided a little, as both warriors continued their stupid rivalry for moons to come. The one cat to help the two ease up the tension was none other than Swanfeather, who from having spent time with Silverdrop and Scorchstorm had come to understand the way both cats siblings felt about them. While Swanfeather could only help a little, it was enough to lessen the damage that could have been done.

Moons waxed and waned as the time came for both Shimmerpool and Lightningstrike to receive their apprentices. Lightningstrike was the first to reverie his, a young hot headed tom by the name of Sandpaw. While a few moons passed, Shimmerpool soon had her own chance to train an apprentice. A young cat by the name of Ratpaw. The two mentors were quick to push their apprentices to join them in their rivalry, something both Ratpaw and Sandpaw did not mind doing. This lasted until both cats had earned their warrior names of Ratstripe and Sandclaw, but halted all suddenly when the tension between both Shimmerpool and Lightningstrike vanished at the death of Swanfeather.

It was a targedy that hit all young warriors closely tied to those involved. Scorchstorm and his mate Swanfeather had  been exploring the abandoned twolegnest along with Larkchaser when the floor caved in. Larkchaser survived, loosing usage of his hind legs from a broken backbone, while Swanfeather met a tragic end with a snapped neck. Scorchstorm was devastated, closing off from everyone else and blaming Larkchaser for the whole incident. Every other cat was equally sorry about the loss, with Shimmerpool and Lightningstrike going as far to spend nights together discussing the time they had lost by challenging each other that they should have used to spend more time with Swanfeather and their siblings. The two came to an agreement: They weren't apprentices anymore. This rivalry was doing more bad than good.

From then on both Shimmerpool and Lightningstrike began to open up, spending time together with their friends and family. As time went on the bond between the two grew, to the point where they couldn't deny the feelings for each other. It wasn't before long that the two became mates and Shimmerpool was expecting Lightningstrike's kits.

This came to much joy throughout the clan, with the only one seemingly unhappy by this being Shimmerpool's apprentice Ratfang who saw their mateship as betrayal over the time spent when he was an apprentice. However, these small problems were enough to overshadow something else- that Silverdrop herself was hiding a pregnancy.

Life seemed like it could only go for the better for Shimmerpool, despite the troubles Stoneclan gave her clan. However, everything came crashing one night when Shimmerpool caught one Lakeclan warrior sneaking away from camp, following him the queen stumbled upon a meeting between Darkstar and some traitorous warriors. The cats were planning to murder felines of Boulderstar's family to weaken the lakeclan leader's mind and finally prove him that Stoneclan was a threat to be taken seriously. Being slightly larger and heavier than otherwise stealth was not around to help Shimmerpool out- leaving her to quickly get discovered and forced to flee the scene. As she escaped however, the she-cat fell upon her sister who was just returning from a secret meeting with Darkstar's son and Stoneclan deputy, Shadowstrike. Forced to choose between her mate and also-to-come kits and her clan Silverdrop offered to take her sister's place and face the enemy so that Shimmerpool could get away, knowing the risks but still loyal to her sibling. Hiding away Shimmerpool watched as Silverdrop took her sister’s role (since she was not only resembled her like a ghost but was also pregnant), fooling the enemy who once upon her brutally killed the she-cat.

Blaming herself for her sister's death and feeling sick of this entire situation the queen stayed away from her clan, not even bothering to leave clues of her survival when the Lakeclan traitor returned with Silverdrop's body saying it was her who had been killed. She had failed, the enemy had killed a loved one and Boulderstar was heartbroken.

Living as a pregnant loner would have been much harder for Shimmerpool had she not come into contact with an ex-kittypet by the name of Glint. Glint was a rather shy young cat who didn't know how to hunt. While she tried to her best to help the barely full grown young cat learn hunting techniques for survival, it was hard, the queen tried her best despite it being harder with her fat tummy but in the end Glint just wasn't made for hunting. The loner would watch other cats hunt, but even them it didn't help. During this time Glint and Shimmerpool (who went by the name of Shimmer during that time) would bump into each other and as time went on Glint seemed to get stronger- until Shimmerpool witnessed the she-cat stealing prey from other loners in order to feed herself. Glint was strong, and believed in survival of those who could fight. While they would occasionally share prey, it was tough for the queen to understand this way of living.

About a moon after this event Stoneclan ambushed Lakeclan camp by swimming across the lake while some of their warriors drowned to attack the clan. Darkstar ended up murdering Jadeheart the Lakeclan deputy and taking away another of Boulderstar's lives, Lightningstrike became the next deputy believing that his mate and kits were dead because of Stoneclan and possessed a ever-growing  hatred against Stoneclan. Finally Lakeclan began to fight back, but its troubles were far from over.

As newleaf came to be, the raining season gradually got worse. Shimmerpool managed to survive with the help of Glint who knew the non-clan land better than her, but the same couldn't be said about her Lakeclan family who lived in the middle of an island. After Boulderstar died during a flood that killed off many of his warriors the newly made Lightningstar declared war on Stoneclan and allied himself with Streamclan to attack the enemy. Leaving the life of a loner Shimmerpool kept watch over her clan, fed up of this constant fighting and deciding it was time to step in and stop the fighting Shimmerpool revealed herself as alive during the battle and accused Darkstar in front of his warriors. Making it clear that he was a monster not worth following as he didn't even follow the warrior code. Upon learning that Silverdrop was dead Shadowstrike stepped forward. Heartbroken and betrayed by the news that his mate and kits had been murdered by his own father the Stoneclan deputy, Shadowstrike fought his father in a one on one battle and killed him before refusing to take up position as next Stoneclan leader and naming his apprentice "Scareye" as new leader instead.

As moons went on Shimmerpool gave birth to her kit nothing could be happier, this ended almost as abruptly as all other troubles had when the young tomkit was stolen by a rogue one night and this threw the leader and his mate into panic. After his first deputy retired the Lakeclan leader assigned his mate as deputy, hoping the job would distract her from their lost kit.

Deputy-hood
Moons went on as the two mates ruled over their clan, but a sense of unrest stirred through the entire territory and soon the news of rogues began to spread across all four clans. Cats were dying and betraying their clan and those they loved left and right. Angry with this new uproar Lightningstar issued a rule in his clan, any cat who was discovered to be a traitor working for the rogues would no longer be exiled like they were in the other 3 clans, they would be executed on spot. The leader also began a fruitless hunt for the rogue's camp, staying away from other clan's territory but searching high and low in his lands.

As moons waxed and waned the deputy was forced to fight off occasional murder attempts, but none were ever successful. But everything changed one gathering when Streamclan brought a new warrior whom Shimmerpool recognized to be her son. An argument broke off when Streamclan refused to give up a valuable warrior and Shadowpath declined the offer (not wanting to drop the mission he had been assigned). The deputy would occasionally approach her son during the next full moons and attempt to talk to him but the cat would only pretend she never existed.

During that dreaded night
Shimmerpool was by Lightningstar's side when he attacked Thornheart at the gathering, she did not bother raising a paw against the rogue leader but had to fight off the wave of rogues and traitors that tried to overtake her, forcing her to watched in horror as Thornheart took her mate's lives away as if the Lakeclan leader was just a newly made apprentice taking on a senior warrior. It was this night that her son finally spoke to her, or more stood up for his mother. Refusing to kill off the Lakeclan deputy Shadowpath fought off any rogue that approach her as the she-cat crouched by her dying mate's side. When the light faded of Lightninstar's eyes Shimmerpool issued a retreat command to her surviving clanmates and slowly fought her way with her son through the crowd of rogues to escape into the night towards their home....

After the massacre
Shadowpath did not stay with his mother, after he was certain the she-cat was safe he disappeared without a trace.
Now that her mate was dead and she had been deputy the she-cat was nominated as Lakeclan's new leader. Being the one to take the load of not only dealing with a gathering massacre but also the attack on her clan's camp while they had been away, Shimmerstar set off to rebuild her clan and like every clan leader must ignore the suspicion that sent chills down her back and hid the her worry behind a act of a trusting and supportive leader who whenever she has her back on your will unshed her claws and brace herself for an attack. But troubles for Lakeclan had only began as she took on the role of Leader.

Leadership

It was apparent things would going to be tough before Shimmerpool received her nine lives. On the way to the Pillar the she-cat was attacked by a League Assassin by the name of Gaia. Chances are she would have died had an ex-League clan supporter by the name of Foxline not jumped to her rescue. With Foxline by her side as she slept Shimmerpool went to visit Starclan. What she saw during her ceremony was enough to surprise, anger and frighten her.

Shimmerpool was greeted by several cats in Stoneclan she had barely met. While she knew several from her own clan a few new faces shocked her...but that was not what she truly felt- rather those missing from her that she couldn't help but pick up. Boulderstar, her father and leader gave her the life of Courage, Shadepelt her mother gave her the life of Instinct, Stealthheart her medicine cat and brother gave her the life of Justice, Silverdrop her sister gave her the life of a mother's love, Jadeheart the deputy before Lightningstar gave her the life of duty, Ferntail previous medicine cat who mentored Stealthheart gave her the life of upholding old traditions, Sandclaw Lightningstar's apprentice gave her the life of mentoring those who need guidance while Swanfeather her friend gave her the life of understanding that clan blood is not everything. The last and ninth cat to give her a life was not Lightningstar, but rather a Stoneclan leader by the name of Violetstar.

Violetstar explained she was here to replace the Lakeclan cats who could not come. She gave Shimmerstar the life of Strength to act without fear or judgement- the ninth life that Shimmerpool had expected would come from her mate. Violetstar refused to tell her where Lightningstar was, and why he wouldn't come to her ceremony, and when asked the others were simply silent. It was in distress the Shimmerpool awoke as new Lakeclan leader "Shimmerstar", self-doubting herself if she had done something wrong to push Lightningstar to not attend her nine live ceremony.

Upon returning to camp Shimmerstar proceeded to name her new deputy, choosing Foxline out of all cats she knew in her clan simply because she felt she could trust the outside cat to help her more than some of these potential traitorous clan cats could. Life seemed to go steady as Lakeclan recovered, with Shimmerstar assigning young Quailkit to train under Mistyblaze. Trouble was quick to come when Stealthheart's apprentice vanished mysteriously leaving the young apprentice to master herbs on her own- this weakness easily exploitable if the League were to hit Lakeclan again.

Feeling that she needed to at least try to fight back against the League before they came to them Shimmerstar approached Foxline with a proposition. The two would attempt to fool the League by joining them. As leader Shimmerstar was more than willing to loose some lives for this plan, as the last time her mate had attempted to send a spy by the name of Thunderblaze the tom had been found brutally murdered before the massacre. With little to say to change her leader's mind Foxline was forced to play along, bringing Thornheart and Glint who was now League Vice to meet up with Shimmerstar as the Lakeclan leader insisted she was willing to join the League at the cost given. What neither had expected was for Thornheart to turn their plan against them, spreading the word to every clan that 1 leader and 1 deputy was secretly working for him- creating trouble for every cat. As several moons went by Shimmerstar finally gave in, admitting to the other clan leaders and deputies that she had done a mistake by failing to warn them of her plan. It seemed as if things would settle down now that the threat of clan war was done. But troubles from inside Lakeclan itself were just on the rising...

Many cats had begun to doubt Shimmerstar's leadership with Foxline by her side. This was only even furthered when Shimmerstar decided to remove the law Lightningstar had put in place of killing any cat suspect of working for the League. This had gone against all of Shimmerstar's beliefs as new leader, but had been a safety blanket that somecats had used to fool themselves into believing their clan didn't have any traitors as a result. This anger was quickly exploited by outside forces and a rebellion was soon formed.

A queen "Angledwing" had been forced to witnessed one of her kits swept away by a river as Shimmerstar had to choose between saving her or the small feline. The she-cat slowly turned mad, blaming her leader for what she believed to be the death of her kit, and with the backup of many other cats who disliked their leader and deputy she formed a rebellion. This rebellion created a tear in Lakeclan, a tear that Shimmerstar was helpless to fix. Whatever help she had from Foxline was quickly brought down when the deputy was forced to attack and scar Angledwing when the rebel leader tried to kill her mate Dodger. This had given the Rebellion enough leeway to put pressure on Shimmerstar to exile her deputy, hoping that someone lakeclan born would at least be chosen and if not they intended to bring their leader down. Stuck Shimmerstar momentarily exiled Foxline, but refused to name a new deputy as she made it clear she did not trust anyone in her own clan anymore. Having to juggle her leader duties and her job of spying on the League, Shimmerstar was quickly forced to seek the aid of the other clans. Having now recovered from their recent turmoils, and knowing of the she-cat's plan to learn the rogue secrets, Blackstar, Nightstar and Alderstar were quick to send two warriors and one apprentice to help out in these troubled times.

While the other clan warriors helped to calm the fighting, Shimmerstar herself worked to get ride of Angledwing. What she had not expected was to find a way out of this all inside the League itself. While visiting their camp one day Shimmerstar overheard some League rogues gossiping over the fact that one of Thornheart's Vices had secretly allied with Angledwing without Thornheart's consent. The fact that Angledwing worked with the League was already enough for the leader to return to her clan, but it also gave her a leeway to break ties with the League. Doing so did not go unnoticed, as Shimmerstar had to fight her way out after attacking a League Vice- loosing 2 lives in the process as she fled the group of cats she had never really sided with. Her troubles did not end there, as rather than announce it openly first the she-cat went to challenge Angledwing over this. What she did not expect was the queen to fight back and attempt to silence her for this fact- taking away her first life. Managing to escape with a permanent injuries to her stomach Shimmerstar dragged herself into camp where she announced the new to her clan, exiling Angledwing without sentencing her to death as Caterpillarlegs came to drag his mate away to safety.

Since then peace has finally returned to Lakeclan. However Shimmerstar still doubts herself, feeling the pressure of all those who believe she is a bad leader and still making mistakes in the process. While on the outside they are getting stronger, Shimmerstar feels that her clan is weak, without a deputy and a leader who has so far done more bad than good during her leadership. The fact that Lightningstar never gave her a life is slowly getting to her now, dragging her down with all the other problems she is now blaming herself for.

Whether it will bring her down completely and take her clan with her is yet to be determined...

Role play Example: (I can roleplay inner or external point of view, whichever people prefer doing)

Sample 1: Internal Point of View RP of Potential Nuzlocke Scenes with headpott
"They need his knowledge on fossils apparently...that's what i heard one say." Taking a careful step away from Reo I picked Loiret off my shoulder and placed her on the ground.
"Frankly, i don't know if they are still there. Some left when Storm arrived to help out...i did not pay much attention to my surroundings after that so I don't know whether they all left or if one or two were still hanging around."

I thought of the sail fossil I had eventually taken from Olivier and the pokemon who could come from it...the poor creature was still dormant incased in its century old prison, "You want to get fossils? huh? The guy we were rescuing may know more about them. He gave a few to those who help him...probably still has more."

Sample 2: Omnipresent Point of View Roleplay of Seishin-Dobutsu with Ghouletic

Caine sighed and shook his head, unconvinced, he already had the feeling that many people would judge him for what he was, but he now was determined even more to keep wearing his coat, as a sign of defiance to anyone who would want to annoy him. He could always use it to his advantage...
In front of them Kishan slowed down his pace to walk next to them but kept a slightly annoyed look. As they passed a large window the boy stopped and pointed to a planet outside. "I'm sure you've heard of this planet. If you haven't well it's Earth." his expression was replaced by a sudden large worrisome smile. "Have you ever been there?"

Would you ever want to RP any of your cats with Quailpaw?
